Our 2026 sponsored walk was held on Sunday 3rd May – and what a fantastic day it was!
A BIG thank you to everyone who walked, volunteered, donated or supported us. We’re so grateful for all your amazing support – thank you for making the day so special. We had such a fantastic turnout and it was really lovely catching up with so many familiar faces and welcoming new friends to the SHC family.
We’re delighted to share that, with donations still coming in, this year’s fundraising total has now exceeded £11,500 – which is fantastic! The walk is our biggest fundraiser of the year and we thank you all for your generosity and amazing fundraising efforts.
Every step and every contribution will make a real difference – and will help us support cardiac patients, NHS staff and communities across Sussex.
Dance Central
Special thanks to Sue and everyone from Dance Central for supporting our walk. Sue runs Dance Central classes in Worthing and Haywards Heath and they all came together to put on a fantastic line dancing display before the walk started. Over 30 dancers took part – it was such a fun and lovely way to kick of the day and their energy and enthusiasm created a brilliant atmosphere – we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did.

After dancing, the Dance Central squad didn’t stop – they all joined the walk and definitely got their steps in!. Sue also organised a JustGiving fundraising page and together all the dancers raised a fantastic £2,183.54! Thank you everyone for your amazing support.
Thank You SHC Volunteers!
We couldn’t run the event without the help of our dedicated SHC volunteers. A huge thank you to everyone who helped out at the Marina and the Hove halfway point. We were delighted to welcome members of the cardiac rehab team – and we hope you got to say hello to them all!

Support That Made the Event Possible
Thanks to everyone from the cardiac unit who came along to the walk. It was lovely to see you all, and we’re very grateful that you gave up your time to support us.
We would also like to thank Brighton Marina and the Mercure Brighton Seafront Hotel for supporting our event.
This year, we were really excited to have the Marina Village Square as our new base. It was a lovely and welcoming space and we are very grateful to the Marina team for making it available to us. We thank the Marina staff for all their support in the lead-up to the event and for all their help on the day.
And thanks to Kaytie and the team at the Mercure Hotel. Having the hotel facilities available to our supporters at the halfway point was greatly appreciated and we thank them for their support and hospitality.
