On Sunday, we had the pleasure of attending the Steepdown Challenge in Lancing.
The annual race is organised by the Lancing Eagles Running Club, and we’d like to thank the club committee for choosing us as their nominated charity for this year’s event.
Over 370 runners took part in the junior and senior races, and it was great to see runners of all ages taking on the challenge. The senior race is an 8km off-road course that takes in views of the Downs and features a 172 metre climb up to the Steepdown Trig Point – which is quite a challenge for a Sunday morning!
We really enjoyed being part of such a wonderful event and we had a great time cheering on all the runners from our marshalling point – we even managed to spot a few people we knew!

It was lovely meeting Burton, Ian, Chris and the team and we thank them for making us feel so welcome. We are very grateful that the club are donating proceeds from the event to the SHC. Their amazing support will have a big impact and will help us to fund and improve cardiac healthcare for patients across Sussex.

We’d also like to thank Martina and Charlotte for coming along as SHC volunteers to help us with marshalling duties and our SHC stall – your support is very appreciated.
