We would like to say a big thank you to Josh, who last week ran the Great South Run for the SHC.
Josh’s Grandad was taken to hospital a few weeks ago with chest pains and after undergoing tests was admitted to the RSCH in Brighton where he underwent open heart surgery for an aortic valve replacement and single bypass. We are delighted to hear that Josh’s Grandad is now home, and we send him all our best wishes as he continues his recovery journey.
Josh had forgotten he had signed up for the race and hadn’t done any training but wanted to run for his Grandad and fundraised for the SHC in recognition of the amazing care and support the cardiac unit gave his Grandad.
“Without the support of the Royal Sussex Cardiac Unit and Charity, this rollercoaster journey would have been even more challenging. The support grandad has received is something we will forever be grateful for” – Josh

Congrats to Josh for completing the race in a fantastic time. Josh not only smashed the race – but also his fundraising target. He has raised a fantastic £1,892.80. We are very grateful that Josh chose to run for the SHC, and we thank him for his support and amazing fundraising efforts. And a big thank you to Josh’s friends and family for all the very generous donations.
