Earlier this week, we were delighted to visit Preston Lawn Tennis Club to say a huge thank you to everyone for their fantastic fundraising efforts.
Following their quiz and raffle night earlier this year, which we were delighted to attend and thoroughly enjoyed, the club held a second SHC fundraiser during their Finals Day event in July – taking their total raised to an incredible £2,357.70!
When we visited, we were delighted to meet up with club chair Simon, Sue and fellow club members and to present them with a special SHC frame as a little thank you.
It might be a small gesture, but it comes with a very big thank you behind it.
Because fundraising isn’t just about the money raised. It’s about the time and energy people give, the events they organise, the raffle tickets they sell, the prizes they donate, the friends they encourage to take part — and all those little moments that add up to something much bigger.

For Simon, the club’s fundraising has a particularly personal meaning. Following heart surgery last year, he was supported by the fantastic cardiac rehab team in Brighton. Wanting to give something back, he chose to support the SHC and helped bring the club together to raise such a fantastic amount.
The amazing £2,357.70 the club raised will make a real difference. Every pound will help us continue supporting people living with heart conditions across Sussex, as well as the services and teams that make such a difference to their care and recovery.
We’re incredibly grateful to Simon, Sue and everyone at Preston Lawn Tennis Club for their support and generosity.
Thank you all – you’re ace!
