Education sessions are an important part of the Brighton cardiac rehabilitation programme, running alongside their exercise classes to support patients on their journey to recovery.
The cardiac rehab team delivers a fantastic programme of educational talks, covering a wide range of topics, from understanding how the heart works and cardiovascular risk factors to medication, healthy eating, exercise, wellbeing and stress management. Patients also have the opportunity to learn lifesaving skills through our Rescue Ready sessions, which teach CPR and how to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
The education sessions play a vital role in helping patients understand their heart health, build confidence and take an active role in their recovery. They provide an opportunity to ask questions, gain valuable knowledge and discover practical ways to improve their health and wellbeing.
A small piece of equipment making a big difference
With education sessions playing such an important role in patients’ recovery, having the right equipment is essential.
So, when the team’s projector recently broke, they needed a replacement quickly. The projector is an important part of the weekly sessions, allowing speakers to share presentations and information with patients.
With the education programme running every week, waiting for a replacement through the NHS wasn’t a practical option. That’s where we were delighted to step in and help.
Thanks to our Cardiac Rehab Enhancement Fund, the team can request smaller items of equipment and receive them quickly. A replacement projector was ordered straight away and arrived in time for the following week’s education session.

Supporting patients throughout their recovery
We’re delighted to be able to support the fantastic cardiac rehabilitation team in this practical way, helping them continue delivering these valuable education sessions and providing patients with the knowledge and support they need throughout their recovery.
It’s a relatively small piece of equipment, but it makes a big difference – helping the team deliver their programme and ensuring patients can continue learning, building confidence and taking positive steps towards better heart health.
