What is Heart to Heart?
Heart to Heart is a Sussex Heart Charity peer support group offering a friendly, welcoming place for people affected by heart conditions to meet others with shared experiences. Our meetings are informal, relaxed, and open to anyone looking for support, connection or simply the chance to chat with people who understand.
What happens at a meeting?
- Connect with others who understand what you’re going through, in an informal setting to share stories and encouragement
- Enjoy a cup of tea or coffee (and a few biscuits!)
- Chat in a relaxed, supportive environment
- Meet our friendly volunteers – who have all been through similar experiences
- Hear from occasional guest speakers and NHS professionals
Do I have to speak?
No.
There is never any pressure to speak or participate—you are welcome to simply listen and take part in whatever way feels comfortable for you.
Can I bring someone?
Yes.
Partners, carers or a close family member or friend are very welcome if having someone with you would help you feel more at ease.
Is medical advice available?
No.
Heart to Heart provides peer support and general information only.
Questions about your own health should always be directed to your GP, cardiac team or other healthcare professional.
