Sussex Heart Charity sponsored Indoor Rowing Event
The seventh National Indoor Rowing Marathon Day (26 miles) took place on Sunday 13th April like the London Running Marathon many thousands of people took part in the event but unlike the London Marathon the participants were in various locations throughout the country. National Indoor Rowing Marathon Day takes place each year on the same day as the Flora London Marathon, and everybody's encouraged to have a crack at either the 42,195 metre marathon or its half-brother the 21,097 metre distance. sam
Samuel Coombes a member of the Worthing based gym Reps Heath Studios completed the event in 2 hours 57 minutes 11 seconds. He raised money to sponsor the Sussex Heart Charity.
It is hoped that next year we can encourage other gyms throughout Sussex to sponsor this event in aid of the charity. If you require further details of the event go to www.concept2.co.uk/marathon/ or contact the Sussex Heart Charity

Update on Brightona 2007

This years event was a huge success and raised over £20,000 for the Sussex Heart Charity. This was the third year of organising this event on Madiera Drive in Brighton, we estimate that over 4,000 motorcyclist attended on the day and 7,000 + pedestrians.

This is now considered one of the best charity bike events on the south of England. I would like to take this opportunity of thanking all of the team that have helped make this event a success with very special thanks to Abby Goldin for conceiving the idea of Brightona and for putting endless hours in harassing stall holders to attend, and to Matt Barnard for all the time spent by him designing our web page, this programme, and for organising the bands, and Boyd Cruttenden of UKBIKE.com and Friday Ad, for once again agreeing to sponsor the prinitng of poster flyers and the national advertising campaign that kept people informed of this event.

Well done to you and to all the team that have worked tirelessly since January this year in organising this event.and of course not forgetting. Keep up the good work. Without your passion and hard work, we wouldn't be able to offer our support to Sussex

See you all again next year on Sunday 12th October
