Ensuring the future
It is our wish to establish a substantial endowment fund, which will provide for the research and equipment to help present and future generations deal with heart problems.
It is realised that for many, there are often limited ways in which lifetime support in financial terms can be made possible. That is why the provision of a bequest in one’s Will is becoming more practical.

Charitable legacies and bequests are free of inheritance tax and greatly assist estate planning.

Four Ways To Give
There are four common forms of legacy, and professional advice should be sought to determine which is the most appropriate for you.

The Pecuniary Legacy
This is a method of leaving a named amount of money to the Charity. The disadvantage of this means of support is that inflation erodes the value of the bequest over the years. One way to avoid this is to set aside a specific proportion of your estate to your beneficiaries as follows:

The Residuary Legacy
This donates a percentage or fraction of the residue of your estate after your specific bequests have been made. This is a way to protect the real value of your gift. We would ask you to consider bequeathing one or two percent of your Estate.

A Life Interest (Reversionary Legacy)
All of us are concerned for those we leave behind, and wish to ensure that proper provision is made for those closest to us. A Reversionary Legacy enables you to leave money or a percentage of your estate to the Charity after the death of your spouse or relative. This enables them to enjoy your assets during their lifetime, with the designated portion reverting to the Brighton Heart Support Trust afterwards.

The Conditional Legacy
If you would like to leave part of your Estate to the Charity, but feel that someone else has a stronger claim to the gift, then you can make a Conditional Legacy. This means that you leave your bequest to a particular person, but in the event that he or she should predecease you, then that bequest would go to the Charity. Your gift can take any form such as shares, paintings or other items of property.
